Housing and Dining

The Office of Residence Life is open from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, over the summer.

Housing assignments were sent out on Thursday, July 29th. If you have any questions about your assignment, please reach out to our office during our regular business hours, and we will provide assistance as soon as possible.

Immunization Compliance Requirement

Your housing assignment is contingent upon successful submission of your COVID-19 vaccination status or plans by Tuesday, August 10th

In order to be permitted to move onto campus, you must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Full immunization record submitted via the Student Health Portal
  • Approved exemption on file with Health Services (For more information about exemption, contact [email protected].)
  • If you are not fully vaccinated, and are not approved for an exemption, you must submit a signed attestation confirming ONE of the following:
    • You have received the first dose of a 2-dose vaccine regimen, and you commit to receiving your second dose as scheduled.
    • You are unable to get any COVID vaccine prior to your arrival, and you commit to receiving the vaccine immediately upon arrival at Simmons..
    • You are an international student who has received a non-WHO approved vaccine, and you commit to receiving an approved vaccine as soon as you are eligible. 

Housing contracts will be cancelled for any student who is not in compliance with one of the above criteria.

Setting Up CoVerified

CoVerified is a platform that streamlines testing activities for COVID-19 pandemic and is accessible through a mobile app. 

Onboarding steps:

  • Review these instructions
  • Install the mobile app, activate your account, and please make sure to allow notifications
    • Download the mobile app at: 
    • If you cannot access a compatible mobile device, activate your account through the web portal at:
    • If you cannot use CoVerified at all due to limited email and internet access, please reach out to the Health Center for alternative methods.
  • If you have any issues, please contact the Health Center at: (617) 521-1020, or via email at: [email protected] so they can clear you. If you are unable to reach the Health Center, please go directly to the testing site during open hours for help. Examples of common issues are:
    • Issues with appointment scheduling.
    • You believe you received a “Restricted” status in error.
    • You’re unable to see your test results in CoVerified.

Selecting a Meal Plan

The meal plan is included in your housing charges, and there is no additional cost for any of the plans. Please note that you cannot opt out of the meal plan, as it is a required part of living on campus.

You must select your meal plan by August 17th using the Meal Plan Selection Form. You can make changes to this selection by contacting the Office of Residence Life at 617-521-1096 or [email protected] Changes can be made to your initial selection until September 15th.

Meal Plan Information:

Meals do not roll over from one semester to the next. However, points remaining on your account at the end of the Fall semester will transfer over to the Spring semester and be added to your replenished balance. You will have an opportunity to change your meal plan between the Fall and Spring semesters if you find that your initial choice does not suit your needs.  Please note: Points remaining at the end of the Spring semester do not rollover to Summer or the following Fall semester.

Move-In Information

For move-in dates and times, please visit our Move-In Information page. We will send out further specific details and logistics the week prior to move-in.  

Remember, you must follow these requirements:

  • Only two (2) individuals may help you move into your residence hall
  • All individuals must remain masked at all times while inside
    • Non-vaccinated individuals are encouraged to wear a mask in crowded outdoor spaces

Housing License Agreement

Before applying for 2021-2022 housing, you must read through the terms laid out in the Housing License Agreement. Please note that applying for housing is like signing a lease; the Housing License Agreement is a contract between yourself and the University with regards to on-campus housing. And as with a lease, there are charges associated with withdrawing, which are outlined in the document. Please note that we have offered eligibility for students who withdraw from housing on or before August 10th to have the late cancellation fees waived.

Accessibility Accommodations

If you will need to request accommodations for accessibility for 2021-2022 academic year housing, please visit the Office of Accessibility Services website. Applications for residential accessibility accommodations were due by May 5th.
