Students beginning their generalist/foundation practicum year each fall are contacted the prior spring. For incoming, full-time students, this process begins after a tuition deposit is paid.
- Students submit a placement intake form and a current resume to the Practicum Education Department.
- After receipt of the materials, the student schedules a placement meeting with the Practicum Faculty.
- Following that meeting, students begin the application process, and if selected will interview with an agency.
- If both parties approve of the arrangement Simmons finalizes the placement.
- If the match seems unpromising, the student begins the application process again.
