Faith/Religious Organizations

Spiritual Identity Support at Simmons engages with students in both formal and informal ways, providing spaces and opportunities to connect. Advisors are available to meet with students regarding personal or religious questions, guidance throughout Simmons experience and in navigating resources.

Simmons Cru

Simmons Cru is a Christian community affiliated with Cru, an international organization. Founded at UCLA in 1950. Cru is a caring community passionate about connecting people to Jesus Christ. Cru offers weekly meetings with other schools in the Fenway area, weekly small group meetings, various on and off-campus events, retreats, and more! We seek to offer a safe space for spiritual discussion and growth, no matter where you are in your faith journey.

Simmons Hillel

Hillel at Simmons is your center for Jewish life on campus, offering social, cultural, religious, and educational programming throughout the year. Simmons Hillel offers many different events on campus, such as Shabbat dinners, holidays programs such as Sukkot and Passover, social events such as bagel brunches and ice cream socials, and frequently holds joint events with other local colleges and universities.

Simmons Islamic Society

Welcome to Simmons: Assalama alaikum!

The Simmons Islamic Society (SIS), formerly the Muslim Students Association, is a student organization which focuses on establishing a comfortable environment for the Muslim community within the institution. We not only work to meet the needs, both social and religious of our fellow sisters, but also work towards meeting the needs of our religious and non-religious communities at large. SIS is a diverse group of women who are passionate about serving community, proud of their religious heritage, and welcoming to all.

Prayer and reflection space for all students is available on both the residence and academic campuses.

Multi-Faith and Meditation Space

Prayer Room Space

We aim to keep access to multi-faith rooms as uncomplicated as possible. Their shared nature relies largely on the respect of the community and users. The rooms are provided for prayer, meditation, and reflection. The rooms are generally available on a drop-in basis and it may often be necessary to wait for the room to become free.

Multi-faith and meditation spaces for all students, faculty and staff are available on both the residence and academic campuses.

Dietary Needs

Simmons Dining (Aramark) offers an all-halal-certified food station dedicated to Halal-inspired meals every lunch and dinner, at the three locations (please note: the possibility of substitutes when   and when in doubt connect with the site manager.):

  • Bartol Dining Hall
  • For additional dining locations, please inquire with an Aramark Manager on Duty regarding Halal-certified availability. Each dining location has a Manager on Duty.

Aramark offers meals that have been pre-ordered for students of religious dietary practice. Advanced notice is required, orders must be submitted three days prior to the desired pick-up date.

  • For inquiries contact the AramarkGeneral Manager, Heather Lupis at [email protected]. For Students keeping Kosher, meals are obtained from Boston University’s Hillel Kitchen. Lunch and dinner are available; prepared and distributed to students in a sealed box. Those that have ordered will just need to speak to an Aramark Manager on Duty for ordering and distribution.

Previously arranged by an Aramark Manager, B.U. has offered Simmons has offered Simmons Students the option to go have a hot meal at the Hillel house on the B.U. the campus during holidays.
