Open Enrollment FY20

Welcome to FY20 Benefits Open enrollment! This is your annual opportunity to make new benefit elections and changes for the upcoming plan year.

The FY20 Benefits Open Enrollment period will occur April 29th —  May 10th. As always, we want to make sure that you are properly informed about your benefits choices so that you can make the best decisions for yourself and your families. You are essential to the success of Simmons University and we want to help you feel healthy and fulfilled in your personal and professional life. This is why we have provided you with several resources to support you every step of the way.

You will find information about this year’s plan offerings, highlights of the changes and additions that have been made to our plans, and resources that will be available to you through the Open Enrollment process.

Open Enrollment Resources
We have the following information and resources available to help you understand the benefits offerings for FY20 and make informed decisions during Open Enrollment and throughout the year.
  1. Open Enrollment Guide: As Open Enrollment commences, a detailed Guide will be emailed to you. This Guide will provide an overview of the benefits, medical plan comparisons, contact information for the vendors and related information.
  2. Health Advocate: This partner will be able to help you make informed decisions during the Open Enrollment period, as well as triage questions on your health benefits throughout the year. Health Advocate can assist you in understanding the different plans available 866-695-8622.
  3. Benefits Fair on May 8th: Benefit providers, including our medical and dental plan provider, BCBSMA, VSP, Connect Your Care, and other benefit providers, will be at the Benefits Fair on Wednesday, May 8th (10am-3pm, Linda K. Paresky Center). We invite you to visit the Fair and learn more about the benefits we offer to the Simmons community.
  4. Information Sessions: We have planned two lunch and learn sessions with Medical, Dental, Flexible Spending and Health Savings Vendors to help you better understand the benefits of these plans. A member of the Benefits Team will also be at all sessions to facilitate and support questions. We will also host Liberty Mutual and Colonial Disability for one-on-one sessions.

    • 1st session, Thursday, May 2nd from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm in MCB-C105 with the following vendors, Blue Cross Blue Shield (Medical & Dental Plan Vendors), and Connect Your Care (the new Flexible Spending Account Vendor)
    • 2nd session, Thursday, May 9th from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm in School of Business – M105 with the following vendors, Blue Cross Blue Shield (Medical & Dental Plan Vendors), Connect Your Care (the new Flexible Spending Account Vendor) and Bank of America (Health Savings Account Vendor)

    Lunch will be provided at the above two sessions, so we encourage you to pre-register so we can plan accordingly.

    Simmons will host Liberty Mutual on Thursday, May 16th for one on one appointments to review auto, home and life individual information, Liberty will be onsite from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm in the MCB – Shepard Room. Please register for an appointment here.

    Simmons will also host Colonial Disability on Tuesday, May 14th for one-on-one appointments to review supplemental disability coverage, Colonial will be onsite from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm in MCB – C302. Please register for an appointment here.
