Simmons University is committed to the health and happiness of our faculty and staff. To demonstrate this commitment, we have launched Wellbeing at Simmons. This initiative will serve as the core of our overall benefits strategy. The mission of Wellbeing at Simmons is to give employees access to the tools and resources they need to feel happy, healthy, and fulfilled at every stage of their career. A wellbeing committee has been established to steward this effort.
According to extensive research from Gallup scientists, the traditional structure of workplace benefits fails to holistically support employees. To feel truly fulfilled, Gallup identified five distinct focus areas for wellbeing: Career, Community, Financial, Physical, and Social.
At Simmons, we are actively working towards being a healthier community. We want to ensure employees feel enabled to succeed across all five areas of wellbeing, achieving both personal and professional success.
Financial challenges have the ability to permeate all aspects of our lives. When we’re worried about our expenses, it’s hard to focus on other areas of wellbeing. Financial security is much more than a healthy income; it’s learning to effectively manage your economic life to plan for the future you want.
They say that if you like your job, you never work a day in your life. At Simmons, we want to do everything in our power to make sure you feel challenged and fulfilled in your role. Being satisfied with your career can make a huge difference in your happiness and quality of life.
Throughout our lives, we are constantly building relationships. The strength and positivity of these connections strongly influences our overall happiness and wellbeing.
Our communities play a big role in our physical and psychological health. Being immersed in an apathetic or unwelcoming environment can have a negative impact on your ambition – whereas a thriving community can be the difference between a good life, and a great one. Simmons is committed to creating a positive and inclusive employee culture within the University community.
It’s hard to be at your best when you aren’t feeling the best. Having good health is the foundation to staying energetic and motivated in pursuit of our goals. Physical wellbeing is essential for living a long, happy, and fulfilling life.
