Richard Voos receives 2022 Priscilla McKee Award

May 12, 2022

The Simmons Alumnae/i Association is proud to announce that the recipient of the 2022 Priscilla McKee Award for Faculty and Staff is Simmons Associate Provost for Planning, Assessment, and Accreditation Richard Voos ‘90MS.

Richard was nominated for this award for his tireless dedication to Simmons students over the past decade. He has helped to shape the University’s exceptional academic program, both by working with many departments throughout the University as well as across the Colleges of the Fenway and beyond. Richard organized and represented the University as the chair for the 2020 New England Commission of Higher Education accreditation process, which is a multi-year, complex process that ensured a comprehensive and accurate assessment of the University. When the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic made in-person commencement ceremonies impossible, Richard’s colleagues remarked that he “coordinated the pivot to an online forum that was at once inclusive, endearing, and memorable.”

The Priscilla McKee Award, named after Simmons’ Vice President from 1979 to 1988, was established by the Alumnae/i Association in 1988. It is presented annually to one member of the faculty or staff of the University in recognition of their exceptional service to the Simmons community and intense dedication to enhancing the lives of our students.
