Promotion, tenure, and emerita/us status decisions are made at the February meeting of the Simmons Board of Trustees. This year, the Board met on Thursday February 11 and Friday February 12.

I thank the academic departments, the Local Tenure and Promotion Committees, the University Tenure and Promotion Committee, and the College Deans for the extraordinary work they did on behalf of our colleagues who earned these recognitions.

Tenure and promotion are affirmations of the valuable work individual faculty members do to advance the mission of Simmons, and I know these faculty members will continue to contribute to the advancement of Simmons University for many years to come.

In spite of COVID-19 and our being away from campus for now, we will surely find ways to celebrate with them in the coming weeks, but please take a moment to congratulate them now.
