Faculty teaching for SocialWork@Simmons, Nursing@Simmons, MPH@Simmons, and LIS@Simmons are welcome to participate in an online book club hosted by Provost’s Faculty Fellow, Dana Grossman Leeman. This semester’s book selection is “Connected Teaching” by Harriet Schwartz.
The purpose of this book club is to deepen relationships between faculty and students in online learning spaces, and to address differences in power, privilege, and status and their impacts on instructor-student relationships.
A Spring Term book club is in the planning stages and will feature Joshua Eyler’s book, “How Humans Learn.” Dr. Eyler may also join one of those sessions, as well.
