Simmons Student Employment is available to all enrolled, degree-seeking students.  If you are considering part-time work at Simmons during the school year, you can apply to the available student jobs listed in Workday! These opportunities allow students to develop and broaden their educational and professional skills while earning money on a part-time basis.

Click on the Career icon on your Workday homescreen, and browse the Student Job Board for student employment jobs. To apply for a particular job you are interested in, please be sure to read the application instructions fully and follow them closely. Most prospective employers will require a resume and an in-person interview.Work study is a type of need-based financial aid that is awarded to students. Please see Student Financial Services for more information on work study awards.

  • Onboarding: Once you have logged into your Workday account, there will be several onboarding items in your inbox that you will need to complete and submit in order for your hire to be complete. These include reviewing important policies, entering your direct deposit information, as well as tax withholding elections, and contact information.

Time Tracking

  • Student employees are paid on a bi-weekly schedule, which can be found on the Simmons Payroll site. Time worked should be entered and submitted each week in Workday to your supervisor for approval.  Please refer to the Time Tracking job aid for assistance.
  • Simmons policy prohibits student employees from working more than 20 hours per week total (including all on-campus and work-study jobs) while school is in session (Fall & Spring Semester).
