October 23 and 24: Scheduled Electrical Shutdown in MCB & Steam Shutdown on the Academic Campus

October 12th, 2021

As the construction of the new Science and Library building progresses, scheduled shutdowns of the electrical and steam systems are now necessary in order to connect the new systems with the existing systems. Please find below details and impact of the scheduled work taking place on Saturday, October 23 and Sunday, October 24.

  • Scheduled Electrical Shutdown of MCB will take place on Sunday, October 24 from 5am to 2pm: Please note that MCB will have no power during the shutdown aside from emergency lighting and systems on the emergency generator. We ask all occupants of MCB to power down computers and equipment as needed prior to the electrical shutdown.
  • Scheduled Steam Shutdown of the Academic Campus will take place from Saturday, October 23 at 5am to Sunday, October 24 at 4pm: Please note that heating and hot water will not be available during this time in all buildings on the Academic campus.

Please contact Facilities at [email protected] with any questions or concerns, or call 617-521-1000. Public Safety and Facilities will be on site while this work is being performed.
