Brand Guidelines

The updated brand guidelines can be found on the University Communications webpage or internal website quick links. Highlights include a refreshed wordmark and graphic logo, an expanded primary color palette, new additions to the secondary color palette, a refreshed cupola graphic, and a new “super S” graphic.

Logos

All new logos (and Simmons photography) are available in merlin.simmons.edu. All Simmons faculty, staff, and student workers have access to Merlin with their Simmons login. If you have a vendor from outside Simmons who needs access to Merlin, please email [email protected].

Fonts

The new fonts, Artigo and Alga, have been deployed to all Simmons-owned computers and are also available in Adobe TypeKit for graphic designers. Museo Sans is retained in this new brand, though Museo and Museo Slab are being retired.

Business Cards, Letterhead and Stationary

Updated printed business cards, letterhead, and other stationery are available from the Copy/Mail website. We encourage you to continue using your existing stationery materials if you have any, until they are used up. Updated digital letterhead is available on the University Communications webpage or internal website quick links.

Style Guide

The style guide has been updated and can be found on the University Communications webpage or internal website quick links. The style guide has been shortened to focus on key Simmons-specific style questions such as alumnae/i graduation year formatting, school names, etc., but otherwise we suggest using the Chicago Manual of Style (CMOS) for any general style guidance.

Simmons has a subscription to the CMOS that is accessible while you are on campus. If you are remote, you may access the CMOS while on the Simmons VPN, and instructions to configure the VPN are included in the style guide.

• Templates for digital signage, as well as some simple flier and event signage templates are available in Adobe Express. Use your Simmons email address to login and then select “Company or School Account,” sign-in on the Simmons login screen, and then select “NERCOMP – SIMMONS UNIVERSITY.”
• PowerPoint and Google Slide presentation templates
• Word and Google Doc policy templates
• Phone and computer desktop backgrounds
• Zoom backgrounds

*An important note is that existing physical brand materials can continue to live alongside refreshed brand materials until they need to be replaced or otherwise updated.
