REEF Support Center: Basic Living Resources

The REEF Support Center connects students with basic needs resources, such as: 

 

  • Commuter services
  • Food access
  • Off-campus living and housing
  • Parking and public transit
  • Rent a Locker
  • Survivor support
  • Navigating support services at Simmons and in the City of Boston
  • and more!

 

Our Commuter website page is a great place to get started or connect with a member of our team! The Commuter Student/Dix Scholar Lounge (A-075), located on the lower level of the Main College Building across from the Bookstore and Fens Cafe, is available to commuters when the University to relax, study, or do a puzzle. 

 

We also host social gatherings, tabling events, study/relaxation sessions, and more throughout the year. You can find our events on Campus Connect. We're looking forward to meeting you!

 

Health and Wellness at Simmons

The Health Center will re-open for limited clinical services on August 19 (by appointment only), and will resume regular hours on Tuesday, September 3. The Health Center offers in-person medical visits for illness, minor injuries, gynecological care, and more, and is open from 9AM-4:30PM Monday-Friday. Please call 617-521-1020 beginning on August 19 to make an appointment!

 

Required Health Information: Remember to submit your required health information in the Student Health PortalThese requirements apply to all full-time students under age 30, all international students, and all full- or part-time Health Science students. Need help? You can watch our how-to video or review these slides.

 

Student Health Insurance: Enroll or waive by September 15! All campus-based students enrolled 3/4 time or more (9 credits or more) are required by Massachusetts law to enroll in Student Health Insurance or be covered by a health insurance plan with comparable coverage. Counseling Center at Simmons

 

The Counseling Center will re-open for clinical services on Tuesday, September 3rd. The Counseling Center offers in-person and tele-health counseling and is open from 8:30-4:30 Monday-Friday. 

If you are interested in meeting with a counselor, follow the instructions below:

 

  • Log into the Simmons Health Portal and select Forms. Under Counseling, please fill out the initial paperwork: This includes Counseling Center Demographic Information, Schedule, Consent to Treatment, and Consent to Tele-therapy. 
  • After the forms are completed, please email us at [email protected] or call 617.521.2455 to let us know that you have completed the paperwork and are ready to make an appointment.
  • If you need to be seen urgently (1-2 work days), please include URGENT in your email subject line.

FIT at Simmons: FREE Fitness Classes!

 

FIT at Simmons provides group fitness classes to Simmons students for FREE, thanks to a generous gift from Nancy Gavrin ’58! With a focus on physical and mental wellbeing, instructors provide a variety of classes 

to provide a holistic approach to fitness.

 

All of our fitness classes are available to view and register for on Simmons Connect! Classes are held at the Holmes Sports Center on the Residence Campus, 331 Brookline Avenue. Undergraduate and graduate students are welcome!
