New Exhibit: Into The Spirit World

The Trustman Art Gallery presents Into the Spirit World featuring monumental work by Stephen Hamilton. This exhibition is on view until Friday, December 13, 2024 with an opening reception on Thursday, November 7 from 5-8 pm and an artist talk on Thursday, November 15, from 6:30-7:30 pm. Admission and events at the Trustman Art Gallery are free and open to all—stop by, meet the artist, and enjoy!

 

Stephen Hamilton is a mixed-media artist, researcher, and arts educator living and working in Boston, MA. He is currently a fourth-year Ph.D. student in Harvard’s AAAs Program focusing on African Studies and African History. Into the Spirit World brings together new and rarely exhibited paintings, weavings, and mixed media works that explore the aesthetic perspectives and artistry of Western and African traditions.

1st Annual Veterans Day Program

The Simmons University School of Social Work, the Office of Military & Veteran Services, and Veteran Females United proudly present our 1st Annual Veterans Day Program titled: Addressing the Mental Health Needs of Servicemembers, Veterans & Their Families, on November 6, 2024, from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM. 

 

Our Keynote Speaker will be 4-star general Gary M. Brito, the 18th Commanding General of the United States Army Training and Doctrine Command, a Hyannis native of Cabo Verdean heritage. His keynote address will focus on leadership, service, and the challenges veterans face as they transition to civilian life. We anticipate that this event will greatly benefit our students, particularly those studying social work and public health, as well as veterans in our community who continue to contribute in significant ways.

The University of St. Andrews is hosting a webinar on Wednesday November 13th at 3pm Eastern Time to about applying to UK graduate programs! If you are considering pursuing a master's degree in the UK, you'll definitely want to join this webinar.

Unpacking Series: Women in Leadership, A Panel Discussion

The upcoming event, Unpacking Series: Women in Leadership, will explore crucial themes of leadership in the current landscape. Organized by the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Simmons University, the event will feature top leaders who will share insights on what it means to be in leadership today.

 

Speakers will discuss the intersection of gender, leadership, and social impact, offering their perspectives on challenges and advancements in leadership roles for women. This conversation is essential for understanding the evolving dynamics of leadership and inclusion.This event is presented in collaboration with The Institute for Inclusive Leadership, The School of Management, The School of Social Work, and The London Center for Community Engagement & Social Justice.

The Guest Meal Swipe Bank is BACK!

Sponsored by the REEF and Aramark Dining Services, the GMSB is an additional pathway to support students in accessing food. Students with guest meal swipes can donate 1-10 of their swipes to the GMSB per semester. Per semester, commuter students can request up to two weeks of meal swipes, and residential students can request up to one week of meal swipesDonate or Request Swipes!

All locations close after lunch. Bartol will close at 1:30pm, The Fens at 2pm and Common Grounds at 3pm.

Wednesday November 27th – Saturday November 30th – All locations are closed

Sunday, December 1st meal plans will resume at Bartol with Dinner 5 PM - 9 PM

Monday, December 2nd regular hours resume at all locations.
