We invite you to join us during Simmons' Homecoming Weekend 2022 from Friday, October 14th through Sunday, October 16th. Please RSVP for Homecoming events in advance! If you have any questions, please contact Julia Hvoslef at [email protected] and Keegan Wales at [email protected].

Homecoming Weekend Schedule

Homecoming general admission allows you entry into all ON-CAMPUS events. Separate tickets are required for any off-campus events (ie: Duck Boat Tours, Harbor Cruise, etc.).

 

The general admission ticket fee is waived for students. If students wish to attend the off-campus events (City Harbor Cruise and/or Duck Boat Tour), they will need to pay the ticket fee of $10/per event. Students can use promo code SimStudent to purchase a complimentary general admission tickets.

Shabbat and Social Hour | 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm | Academic Campus Quad

Simmons Hillel is inviting all friends, family, and alumnae/i associated with Hillel to join us around the Sukkah on the academic quad for a brief Kabbalat Shabbat service, followed by light bites and some socializing! We can't wait to meet friends and family of current Hillel students and to reconnect with our Simmons Hillel alumnae/i community as well. In the event of bad weather, we will join together in room C-503.

What to Expect vs. What You Were Expecting: The Developmental Path for Students (and Families!) | 9:00 am - 10:00 am | Room A-151 in the Main College Building

Have you seen a change in your student since they arrived at Simmons? Probably many positive things! And possibly some things that make you wonder what happened to the child you dropped off? In this session, we will share a bit about college student development theory and how the experience of going to college provides a unique developmental growth opportunity. This session is especially applicable for family and friends of first year students, but applies to all students!

You are invited to attend a working meeting of the Alumnae/i Association Executive Board open to all Homecoming attendees in person and online. Visit us for part or all of this meeting. New co-presidents Karen Thomas '77 and Bobbi Thompson '77, P'11, and the Board's committee directors will share updates on activities for the year ahead. In person space is limited. The Class of 1967 will gather for Dutch treat lunch at Commons Grounds Cafe before hearing a presentation entitled, "Isabella Stewart Gardner: Patron of Music," by Professor Gregory Slowik, who will then accompany the class on a visit of the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum.

 

Boston Harbor City Cruise | 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm | 200 Seaport Boulevard, Boston

Experience Boston from a whole new perspective. Enjoy the beauty of Boston's historic skyline from the water. Ticket price is per person & includes buffet lunch; cash bar available. Transportation is NOT provided. Must find your own transportation to and from 200 Seaport Boulevard, Boston. Boat loading time is 11am - 12pm, event time is 12pm - 2pm.

 

Duck Boat Tour | 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm | Prudential Center, 53 Huntington Avenue, Boston

Traverse both land and water for breathtaking views of Boston and learn about historical landmarks that make Boston special (Duck Boat is accessible). Boarding time is 12:45pm - Transportation is NOT provided.

All are welcome to join the Latinx Affinity group as they host an alumnae/i panel discussion on health equity and access. Learn what it is like in their communities, how they are utilizing inclusive leadership to overcome disparities and how their Simmons experience prepared them to take on this work. This Hispanic Heritage Month event is in celebration of the impact that our Latinx alumnae/i are having on the world and it will be moderated by a member of the student Organizacion Latina Americana. If you are planning to participate virtually, a link will be posted to the event on Simmons Network.

The Class of 1967 will celebrate this momentous occasion at the home of classmate and host Jennifer Kane Coplon for a night of reminiscing, reflecting, reconnecting and great cheer over a special dinner. The address will be sent in a follow up communication.

  • Boston Women's Heritage Trail - Choose from 12 different self-guided tours across and through Boston to see where women from a wide variety of settings, occupations, and backgrounds made history.
