Newman Civic Fellowship: Apply by March 11!

The Newman Civic Fellowship is a year-long program that recognizes and supports students who have a commitment to their community and the potential for public leadership. Newman Civic Fellows are students who take action in addressing issues of inequality and political polarization, demonstrate the motivation and potential for effective long-term civic engagement, and engage in collaborative action with others to create long-term social change.

2025 All Majors Career Fair at Simmons

The Simmons University 2025 All Majors Career Fair is taking place this March!

 

📅 Date: Wednesday, March 19, 2025 🕑 Time: 2:00 – 4:00 PM 

📍 Location: Linda K. Parensky Conference Center, A-310

 

This event will feature over 40 employers from a variety of industries, offering internships, full-time positions, and networking opportunities for Simmons students and alumni. This is a valuable event for students exploring 

career paths, seeking job opportunities, or looking to expand their professional connections.

Spring is just around the corner, and we’re bringing the heat (and the flavor!) to Simmons Dining this month. Whether you’re looking to get creative in the kitchen, celebrate Women's History Month, or just enjoy some delicious seasonal specials, we’ve got something for you.

 

Women’s History Month: Chef Spotlights

This month, we’re honoring the incredible contributions of women in the culinary world with two Chef Spotlight events. Join us on Tuesday, March 11 in Bartol Hall and Wednesday, March 12 in The Fens as we showcase recipes inspired by trailblazing female chefs and their lasting impact on the food industry! 

 

Get Hands-On with Cooking Classes!

March is the perfect time to sharpen your culinary skills! Whether you’re looking to master the art of fresh pasta or elevate your home cooking, these interactive sessions will teach you new techniques (and, of course, let you taste the results!).

  • Pasta Tutorial 🍝 – March 18th at Bartol Hall at Dinner
  • Cooking Class 🔥 – March 24th on the Academic Campus (Stay tuned for sign ups!)

 

If you’ve got a sweet tooth, don’t miss our Cupcake Decorating Event 🧁 on Monday, March 10 at lunch in The Fens! It’s your chance to show off your creativity and enjoy a delicious treat! Plus, in honor of National Ravioli Day on March 20th, Bartol Hall will be serving up some extra-special ravioli dishes. You won’t want to miss it!

Become a Simmons Social Media Ambassador!

The Office of University Communications is hiring two students to showcase Simmons campus life on social media! As an ambassador, you will create videos and posts for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts to highlight the Simmons experience for prospective and current students. This program is intended for students who are proud of being a part of the Simmons community and are passionate about content creation.

 

Details:

  • 1-2 hours/week for Spring 2025
  • $20/hour
  • Must be a full-time undergrad (sophomore standing), with a GPA of at least 2.5
  • Video editing experience preferred
  • Comfortable being on camera & talking to students

Request Guest Meal Swipes from the Bank!

  • The Guest Meal Swipes Bank (GMSB) is a communal meal swipe bank that is accessible to students who have inconsistent access to food. The GMSB is now open. Request (open to all students) or donate (if you are a residential student) your Guest Meal Swipes by visiting: tinyurl.com/guestmealswipe

 

Connect with free therapy through the Student Assistance Program! 

  • The Student Assistance Program offers 24/7 free confidential mental health support (among other things). Students can access 5 sessions per topic. For the first time ever, you can schedule an appointment online with a licensed clinician. The SAP also offers more long term referrals based on your health insurance!
