Call for Nominations: All-In Student Voting Honor Roll 

The London Center for Community Engagement and Social Justice is excited to open nominations for our partner All-IN's Student Voting Honor Roll, which recognizes student voting champions helping to institutionalize nonpartisan democratic engagement and increase college student voter participation. Please nominate yourself or someone else who has supported nonpartisan voter registration, education, and turnout on campus, by January 29. We encourage self-nomination!

 

2025 Simmons Soirée at the Renissance Hotel

Join us for a night of dancing, food, and fun at the annual Simmons Soirée: Under the Starson Saturday, February 8 from 6:00 - 11:00 PM! This year's Soirée is being held at the scenic Renaissance Boston Seaport Hotel overlooking the Boston Harbor. 

 

Tickets are $40 and include entrance, food, and fun! A cash bar is available for students 21+; debit/credit is accepted. Tickets go on sale at 12:00 PM on Friday, January 17 until February 1, 2025. Students may purchase up to 2 tickets each.

 

This student-led event is hosted by the Campus Activities Board (CAB). Please email CAB at [email protected] with any questions!

 

Undergraduate Research and Fellowships

💡 If you're interested in a career in education, the environment, nonprofit work, and the humanities, check out the 2025 FAO Schwarz Fellowship in Social Impact Program

 

This outstanding program offers two-year paid placements at high-impact nonprofit organizations in NYC, Boston, and Philadelphia. Graduating seniors are eligible to apply.

 

The deadline to apply is Saturday, February 1, at 9:00 pm. Register for the FAO Schwarz Info Session on Thursday, January 16 from 2:00 - 2:45 PM EDT.

About the Fellowship 

FAO Schwarz Fellows work at high-impact nonprofit organizations in Boston, New York City, and Philadelphia. These organizations are all deeply valued in their communities and have a strong record of delivering consistent results and high-quality services. Host organizations vary from year to year—and all have a proven commitment to addressing critical issues of social inequity. 

 

Compensation

Fellows who start their Fellowship during the summer of 2025 will receive total compensation of approximately $105,000 (Boston & New York) or $95,000 (Philadelphia) plus benefits over the two-year Fellowship. Due to the differences in the cost of living, the salaries for Boston and New York City-based Fellows are slightly higher than those of Philadelphia Fellows. 

  • Year one: $50,000 (Boston & New York City), $45,000 (Philadelphia) (both include $2,000 start of Fellowship bonus) 
  • Year two: $55,000 (Boston & New York City), $50,000 (Philadelphia) (both include $3,000 end of Fellowship bonus) 
  • Entry-level employee benefits at their host organization 
  • Professional development & leadership training

Final SURPASs Info Session Wednesday, January 22 | 2 -3 PM

Our last SURPASs info session will be held on Zoom on Wednesday, January 22 from 2:00 - 3:00 PM! 

If you've been considering SURPASs, there's still time to develop a project and apply to join this summer's cohort! 

 

The SURPASs intensive takes place for six weeks from the end of May to June. Students receive a $3,500 stipend, a budget of up to $1,000 for project expenses, and on-campus housing for the duration of the program. In addition, faculty mentors receive a stipend of $2,000.

Lab Supplies Borrowing Program Opens 1/21

  • We offer lab coats, goggles, and some molecular kits that can be rented for FREE each semester! Supplies are limited and we will try to accommodate all requests. Request at tinyurl.com/reefcommunityrack

 

Community Resource Room Opens 1/21

  • The Community Resource Room is our free resource for non perishable food items, hygiene products, period products, and school supplies. Each month, Simmons students are eligible to place one order. Register and place an order today at tinyurl.com/reercrr 

 

Free HappyLight Borrowing Program, Opens 1/21

  • HappyLights aid in Seasonal Affective Disorder and can be helpful for people whose mood is impacted by less sun exposure during the winter months. Students may sign out a light for 2 weeks at a time. Request at  tinyurl.com/suhappylight

 

Rent a Locker 

  • Free lockers are available to all commuter students each semester. To reserve a locker please follow these steps:
    • Purchase a locker lock (available at the bookstore)
    • Select a locker, located across from the bookstore or down the hall past Copy Mail Room
