Simmons STEM Research Colloquium

Join us on Wednesday, April 24 between 2 - 5 PM in the Linda K. Paresky Conference Center, 3rd Floor, Main College Building, for the STEM Research Colloquium! 🔬📈

 

The STEM Research Colloquium celebrates undergraduate research in the STEM sciences at Simmons. Seniors and undergraduates across the STEM disciplines will share posters and host small presentations on their research. 

 

This event is free and open to the Simmons community! Light refreshments will be provided. We look forward to seeing you there! 🎉

 

Robert M. Gay Memorial Lecture with Professor Homi K. Bhabha

This event is part of the Literature & Writing Department's annual Robert M. Gay Memorial lecture series. Professor Homi Bhabha will read sections of his 

texts, touching on timely themes of critical theory, displacement, postcolonial theory, and identity. Dr. Bhabha will engage in a moderated discussion with Literature & Writing Professors Patrick Sylvain and Sheldon George with audience Q&A to follow. 

 

This event will also include a book signing of various texts by Dr. Bhabha. Copies of his books will be available for purchase!

Hazel Dick Leonard Seminar 2024

Please join us for an online conversation on public-oriented research and scholarship!

 

The seminar will have four presenters: 

  • Suzanne Leonard (Director of the Graduate Program in Gender and Cultural Studies) 
  • Hugo Kamya (Professor and Associate Director, Center for Innovation in Clinical Social Work)
  • Lydia Ogden (Associate Professor and Director of CICSW School of Social Work)
  • Naresh Agarwal (Professor and Director of Information Science & Tech Concentration.

LMA Shuttle Survey

The Longwood Collective Shuttle Services is asking for your help completing a quick LMA shuttle survey.  Your answers will be anonymous. Anyone who completes the survey will also be entered into a raffle to win a $25 dollar REI gift certificate.

In addition, we are looking for individuals who would like to participate in a short zoom interview about your experience with the LMA shuttles. Study Oasis Event

At this event students can come and relax, learn study tips, or quietly study with peers. There will also be refreshments and drinks offered!

2024 Bike Longwood Series

We are happy to share that Longwood Collective has announced the 2024, Bike Longwood series.  Members of our community can sign up for complimentary, 15 min tune ups provided by Landry’s Bicycles.  Services include assessing the breaks, checking tire pressure, and adjusting components as needed.

 

Appointments can be booked in advance and a complete schedule of dates, locations, and times can be found here.
