The 'Bread and Roses' Annual Dinner

Join the Women's and Gender Studies department for our Bread and Roses Annual Dinner. This year's dinner will feature Matahari Women Workers' Center, a grassroots organization working to end the exploitation of women and femme workers. It has grown into the largest non-union community organization representing women workers in the domestic and service industries in Massachusetts.

Please join Simmons University for the 2024 Gwen Ifill Forum, our annual signature event in honor of Gwen Ifill '77, '93HD and her legacy as a ground-breaking Black woman journalist.

 

This year’s event features a moderated discussion with accomplished MSNBC political analyst and host of “The 

ReidOut,” Joy-Ann (Joy) Reid. Reid will be honored with the Gwen Ifill Next Generation Award – presented to an individual who embodies Gwen Ifill’s commitment to professional excellence, mentoring, and the public good.

Fulbright Info Session

Are you an undergraduate or graduate student interested in receiving a fellowship to attend graduate school abroad, teach English in another country, or pursue an independent creative/research project overseas? Register for the Fulbright Info Session on Wednesday, April 3 at 6 PM! 

 

Fulbright is an international grant program that aims to foster mutual understanding between the U.S. and nations across the globe. In support of this mission, they provide grants for individually designed study/research projects and for English Teaching Assistant programs.

 

If you're considering applying for a Fulbright, we recommend that you begin your research as soon as possible! Take the time to identify the country and university program (if applicable) that best fits your interests, background, qualifications, and goals.

Apply to the PINK with Purpose Project

Got an idea that will strengthen  your community and promote positive mental health? The Jed Foundation (JED) and Victoria’s Secret PINK believe that Gen Z advocates have the power to strengthen their communities and promote positive

mental health. The PINK with Purpose Project awards 10 young adults (ages 18 to 28) up to $25,000 each to bring their ideas to life.

 

Applications are open until 11:59 p.m. on March 17 at pinkwithpurpose.com. Recipients of the 2024 PINK with Purpose Project Award will receive:

  • Funding up to $25,000
  • An all expenses paid trip to New York City for an award summit May 2-4, 2024
  • Mentoring sessions with staff from PINK/Victoria's Secret and The Jed Foundation
  • A budget and finance workshop with “Your Rich BFF” Vivian TuStart 
 

MCPHS' Forsyth Dental Hygiene

Students in the Forsyth School of Dental Hygiene at MCPHS offer preventative dental services – at a fraction of the cost – overseen by licensed professionals in our state-of-the-art clinic. Patient encounters are a requirement of the program and students must see numerous patients of all types to meet their program requirements.
