Campus Connect: Your Go-To For Student Organizations, Activities, and Events!

Weโ€™re excited to announce the launch of our premier Campus Connect website + mobile app on January 24! ๐ŸŽ‰

 

Campus Connect will be your go-to resource for discovering student organizations and finding events tailored to your interest, such as volunteer opportunities, social gatherings and meetups, program info sessions, and more. Student orgs will be able to use this app to conduct business, start new clubs, and share events.

 

This easy-to-use mobile app will be available for download via Google Play and Apple Store.

 

What to Expect?

 

On January 24, we will send an email with instructions on how to download the app + access your Campus Connect account. We'll also have free swag and info about Campus Connect at our tabling events in January. Stop by anytime to say hello and learn how to utilize the platform!

 

  • Tuesday, January 16 from 2 - 4 pm at Common Grounds
  • Wednesday, January 17 from 2 - 4 pm in the Simmons Library
  • Thursday, January 18 from 5 pm - 7 pm in Bartol Hall
  • Wednesday, January 24 from 3:30 - 5 pm at Spring Connections Carnival (location TBA)

The Rink 401 Park is Boston's quintessential winter tradition! A 6,000 sq. ft. ice-rink lives centre stage, home to the coolest skating spot with great activities throughout the winter season. Student prices are $8 (skates not included)*, but will be FREE to the first 15 students who sign up.

Starting January 16, we're bringing you the ultimate convenience with our brand-new mobile ordering system for custom breakfast sandwiches. Say goodbye to long lines and hello to easy, speedy breakfast bliss! Mobile ordering will be available M - F from 7 - 10 am.

The Career Education Center hosts employer tabling events to spotlight and introduce prospective employers to Simmons students. Stop by our table in Common Grounds Cafe to meet employers, network, and discuss full-time professional-level opportunities, internships, part-time jobs, and more.

 

Visit Handshake to find jobs and internships, access career development tools, and learn about upcoming programs + career fairs!

 

Undergraduate Advising is hosting weekly 5-15 minute In-Person & Zoom drop-in advising to support students taking classes on campus! 

 

  • Tuesdays 1 - 2:30 pm
  • Thursdays 10 - 11:30 am
  • Extended drop-in advising: Jan 16 - 18 from 9 am to 3:30 pm

If you stop by in person, please bring your laptop and make sure to join the virtual waiting room to indicate that you would like to meet with an advisor in-person!

 

๐Ÿฆˆ Become a SAMs Peer Mentor! Looking for a job on campus? Interested in providing peer academic support to a group of first-year students? Apply to be a Simmons Academic Mentor (SAM) now! Applications are open until February 16.

 

The REEF Support Center has provided a list of resources and other information for students this semester! The check list includes information on housing, commuting, and other resources available both on and off campus.

The London Center for Community Engagement and Social Justice is hosting its first-ever housing insecurity book club this spring! ๐Ÿ“š

 

This year's selection is Rough Sleepers by Tracy Kidder. This book club is open to all members of the Simmons community on a first-come, first-serve basis. 

 

Books will be provided to participants by the London Center, about a month before the discussion on March 12 at 5 pm over Zoom. Please sign up by Jan. 26 if you are committed to joining the book club and will be available for the March discussion!
