Dear Graduate Students,

I hope you are having a wonderful summer. It’s hard to believe that we are already halfway through July!

We've had some exciting changes over the summer: The Division of Student Affairs and the Center for Student Success have merged to create the Division of Student Engagement, Success, and Diversity. This new division connects graduate students to the following offices:

  • Accessibility Services
  • Academic Support & Tutoring
  • Athletics and Recreation
  • Career Education Center
  • Center for Global Education
  • Health and Wellness Center
  • Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
  • REEF Support Center for Commuter Students
  • Research and Fellowships
  • Violence Prevention, Education, and Outreach (VPEO) Program

Our teams are now working together even more closely to ensure that you have access to the activities, resources, and support networks that will enable you to thrive at Simmons and beyond.

Here are a few updates you can expect over the next few weeks:

  • Introduction to the offices in the Division — who we are, what we provide, how to get in touch;
  • Regular issues of The Anchor, which will be posted on our website;
  • Enhanced services to support health and wellbeing;
  • On-campus and off-campus jobs for graduate students;
  • Opportunities to explore nationally and internationally competitive grants and fellowships;
  • Updated, user-friendly website enabling students to locate and access services around campus and online.

In addition, graduate students are invited to stop by and learn about university-wide services and resources at our fall resource fair on Wednesday, September 13 from 3 to 5 PM. This event will take place outdoors on the academic quad.

As always, we welcome your ideas and suggestions for topics to cover in future issues of The Anchor. Please reach out to [email protected] with questions or feedback.

Sincerely,

The Student Engagement, Success and Diversity Team
