CIEE Fredrick Douglass Global Fellowship

The program pays tribute to Frederick Douglass’ transformative experience visiting Ireland more than 175 years ago. Douglass was embraced by the Irish people and met the famous Irish reformer Daniel O’Connell who expanded Douglass’ view of social injustice and influenced his style of agitating for positive social change through non-violent social and political efforts.

Check out this fully funded Summer 2023 study abroad opportunity for student leaders of color! During this four week program fellows will embark on a three-continent global journey of discovery that will take them to Washington, D.C., Cape Town, Dublin, and Belfast! Career and Leadership Corner

Student Org Leadership Trainings

The Jennifer Eckert Center for Leadership and Engagement has opportunities for personal development and growth in your leadership roles, and these training sessions are here for just that! Below is the breakdown of dates, times, and topics that each month's training.

For this pilot year of trainings - half of the active members of your EBoard must attend a training in order to keep your active status as an organization. If you have an odd number of EBoard members, round up for the number of folks that need to attend (ex: an EBoard of 5 will have 3 folks attend). Your team can decide to each attend a different topic to get a vast array of knowledge, or you can do this as a team and choose a topic that is relevant to your organization! The choice is all yours!

Maya Erdelyi's "Pattern Language"

Simmons University presents Pattern Language, featuring work by Maya Erdelyi. The exhibition runs until Friday, December 16, 2022 at the Trustman Art Gallery.

In Pattern Language, Erdelyi investigates the visceral and kinetic vernacular of pattern, color, repetition, and gestural relationships. Circles, spirals, triangles and orbits join interweaving layers of colors symbolizing cycles, conversations, movement and sound. Erdelyi pushes the boundaries of paper and textiles and plays with notions of geometry evident in quilts and geodesic domes – she connects the dots, creating new paths and patterns.
