FIT at Simmons

Join our peer instructors this week for one of our 18 classes taking place each week during the Fall! FIT at Simmons provides group fitness classes to Simmons students for free, thanks to a generous gift from Nancy Gavrin '58! With a focus on physical and mental wellbeing, instructors provide a variety of classes to provide a holistic approach to fitness. We have added several new classes including:

  • Water Aerobics
  • Intro to the Gym
  • Intro to Weightlifting
  • Beginner Yoga
  • Intro to Rowing
Fall 2022 Schedule

Colleges of the Fenway Fall Intramurals

The COF will have a ton to offer this semester ranging from Flag Football, Wiffle ball, Outdoor Soccer, Volleyball, and Pickle ball. All leagues are open to all students, staff, and faculty.

 

Check out IMLeagues.com/fenway to see what's available this semester. Registration for all leagues will remain open until September 27. Spots are limited so make sure to register your team early!

16th Annual Turkey Trot

The COF’s most attended one day event during the school year on Saturday, November 12! Run annually in the Back Bay Fens around Clemente Field. You can walk to the event then run the route without even crossing a street. This can also be a team event! Sign up a team, wear costumes, challenge each other and have some fun!

 

This program is open to students, faculty, and staff. There will be prizes, T-shirts, food and drinks.

Save the Date: A Simmons (Virtual) Community Discussion: Roe v. Wade Meets Dobbs Decision 2022

A virtual panel of practitioners, policy makers, and providers will discuss the impact of the Dobbs Decision and the intersectional issues and risks the it can have on a variety of citizens rights including same sex marriage, contraception, interracial marriage, and more.

Moodle replaced the “Online Campus” platform for all campus-based undergraduate classes. To access it, visit the Simmons Moodle website and selecting the gray single sign-on button; log in using your Simmons username and password. Additionally, you can find assistance navigating the platform at Moodle for Students.

Major Exploration and Study Abroad Fair

 

Undergraduate students are encouraged to attend to learn about majors, minors, and study abroad opportunities offered at Simmons. Light refreshments will be served.

 

Stop by and learn about COF Travel Courses open for cross-registration! Resources will be available for you to learn how to plan for and finance your study abroad program. Types of study abroad available include semester and summer programs, exchange programs, international internships, and faculty-led travel courses.
