A Message from the Director for the Center for Health Promotion and Wellness

Dear students,

I hope you have had a good first week of classes! My name is Beth Grampetro, and I recently joined the Simmons community as Director of Health Promotion and Wellness and Chief Wellness Officer. In my new role at Simmons, I will be leading the Center for Health Promotion and Wellness (formerly known as the Health Center) as well as developing and coordinating programs and services to promote and support student wellbeing. I am excited to be here and look forward to a great fall semester.

As you are settling into this new semester, you might be thinking about staying healthy this year and may have concerns about current public health issues. As we move through the third year of the coronavirus pandemic, it is understandable that many people are weary, which can lead them to tune out public health threats. However, it is important to prioritize our own wellbeing and that of others in our community. With this in mind, I am writing to share some important information- please visit this link for general wellness tips and information about campus resources, COVID-19, and Monkeypox.

If you would like to receive a COVID booster shot or flu shot (or both), there will be a vaccine clinic on Tuesday, September 20th on the quad at Wentworth from 8AM-2PM. These booster doses are appropriate for anyone age 12 or older who received their last dose of COVID vaccine (primary series or booster) 2 or more months ago. Appointments are open to the Colleges of the Fenway community and can be made below. Bring your insurance card and your vaccine card.

Take care,
