Visitor Parking for Employees

The Simmons University garage uses a ticket entry/exit gate system for visitors. Exit tickets, distributed by the department visited, will allow authorized visitors to pay the current discounted visitor rate or receive complimentary parking in certain circumstances. Visitors who do not receive an exit ticket for the Simmons rate will be charged the public rate.

Two types of exit tickets may be distributed to visitors from authorized departments:

  • Discount Exit Tickets (yellow): only to be distributed for University-related business visits.
  • Complimentary Exit Tickets (blue): only to be distributed to donors, prospective students, prospective employers and VIP during University-related business visits.

Requesting visitor parking

  • Check the guidelines on how to distribute visitor parking tickets first to determine what type of ticket you should request.
  • Fill out the "Visitor Parking Request Form". Each section should be filled out in its entirety. This ensures that the Parking office has all of the relevant information that is required to complete your request in a timely manner
    • Event Parking: to be requested for any gathering, including meetings. These tickets should be distributed to the specific event participants only. Please use the event section of the form. Either complimentary or discounted tickets may be requested
    • General Departmental Tickets: to be requested for parking needs not related to events. Either complimentary or discounted tickets may be requested
  • Request parking through a parking coordinator. Departments without a parking coordinator should email parking@simmons.edu to designate a point person responsible for ordering and tracking exit tickets.
  • You will be contacted via email or campus extension when your order is ready for pick-up at the Parking office, located on P1 near the elevator lobby of the SOM garage.
PLEASE NOTE
  • Before scheduling parking for events, departments must first reserve campus space through Conferences & Special Events.
  • Parking on campus is limited. We cannot guarantee that your request will be approved.
  • In the event that you require parking for large events during peak times, and Simmons University cannot accommodate your request, there are other parking resources in the area that you can direct guests to.
  • Please allow 3 to 5 business days for your request to be processed.
  • Event tickets are set to expire the day following your event, and should be disposed of when the event is over so as not to be confused with general use tickets and distributed to guests.
  • General departmental tickets are set to expire at the end of the fiscal year.
  • Please instruct your guest that if he/she has a problem to press the call button on the payment station at the gate
